Karanzine (kɒrənziːne) is a free, anti-digital zine series curated by Julie Lauritzen. The zine is based on the current quarantine life in Norway and comments, through various artistic expressions, in collaboration with a number of collaborators. Eight handmade, limited-edition zines will be produced through a period of four months. When the government restrictions ends, so will the zine. The zines will exist in Norwegian only.
Lauritzine is the result of Julie Lauritzen's need to combine different skillsets to create and explore visual, tactile and materialistic objects.
Working across the fields of photography, editorial design and writing, Lauritzine's soul purpose is to tell visually inspiring stories and construct a wholesome expression, through creative processes and inspirational collaborations.
Music is and will always be an important influence for Julie Lauritzen. Combined with colours, texture, contrasts and details, they're all key elements of expression throughout the tactile work produced.
Photography: documentation of art, artists, promotional og campaign purposes. Printed matter: catalogues, vinyl &CDs, booklets, zines, books/artist books, magazines and other publications. Writing: almost anything involving photography, arts and design.
Selected clients & collaborators: Fotografi, Nordic Light Festival of Photography, Propeller Recordings, Trafo.no, Luft Recordings, Recens Paper, Girl Crush, Oppland Fylkeskommune & The Norwegian Financial Daily.
